RankInsight ("we", "us") provides an AI-powered SEO rank analysis tool via a Chrome extension and web dashboard. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why, and how it's handled.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, collected when you sign up, used to identify your account and for essential emails like password resets.
• Website data: URLs you submit for analysis, and public content we crawl from those pages (titles, meta descriptions, headings, body text) to generate keywords and reports.
• Keyword and ranking data: the keywords we generate for your site and the search-ranking positions we check for them over time.
• Payment information: if you upgrade to Pro, payment is processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details — Razorpay handles this directly and shares with us only a payment status and transaction ID.
• Google Search Console data: only if you explicitly connect it — search performance data (queries, clicks, impressions) for the site you connect, via Google's official API and OAuth. We never access any other part of your Google account.
• Local preferences: theme and UI preferences are stored only in your browser's local storage, never on our servers.

2. Extension permissions

Our Chrome extension requests only the minimal permissions needed: Active Tab (used only when you open the extension, to prefill the current page's URL) and Storage (to keep you logged in locally). We do not track your browsing across unrelated websites.

3. How we use this information

• To provide the core service: crawling, keyword generation, and rank checking.
• To manage your account, subscription, and usage limits.
• To send essential account emails via our authentication provider (Supabase).

We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use your data to train AI models beyond generating your own report.

4. Third-party services we use

• Supabase — database, authentication, and backend hosting.
• Groq — AI keyword generation and recommendations (your crawled website content is sent here to generate results).
• SerpApi / Serper.dev — search-engine ranking data.
• Razorpay — payment processing for Pro subscriptions.
• Vercel — web application hosting.
• Google Search Console API — only if you connect it.

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing data passed to them.

5. Data retention

We keep your account, website, and keyword data for as long as your account is active, so your ranking-history charts stay useful. You can request full deletion of your account and data at any time (see Contact below).

6. Security

All traffic between your browser/extension and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Access to your data is restricted by row-level security so only you can see your own websites and reports.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us below.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves. Updates will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
